About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Sureel's marketing function end-to-end, including category strategy, positioning, messaging, product marketing, demand generation, thought leadership, brand, and execution
- Own product marketing across the Sureel stack, translating technical capabilities into value propositions, use cases, differentiation, and segment-specific messaging
- Create sales and executive materials, including pitches, case studies, demos, and collateral
- Build targeted demand among qualified rights holders, AI companies, platforms, and ecosystem partners
- Build communication channels and programs to educate, nurture, and activate key audiences
- Lead thought leadership across Sureel and the AI rights and licensing landscape
- Develop Sureel's brand and market positioning across audiences and channels
- Own event and industry presence across conferences, forums, working groups, and communities
- Turn pilots, integrations, partner outcomes, research, and product data into proof points and case studies
- Track market framing by AI companies, rights holders, regulators, standards bodies, competitors, and media
- Support leadership with announcements, conferences, and PR, collaborating with Warner Music Group brand and communications teams
- Manage agency, influencer, and creative partners in alignment with brand and budget
- Create repeatable marketing systems, including templates, timelines, budgets, and measurement processes
- Oversee demo videos and other creative work communicating Sureel's products and value
- Handle confidential and proprietary information with discretion and integrity
- Report to Co-President Aileen Crowley and partner with product, commercial, and client functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Deep experience in marketing, product marketing, category creation, or communications across music, media, enterprise technology, or infrastructure
- Experience owning marketing for a brand or platform from strategy through execution and measuring results
- Understanding of the music industry and how artists, labels, publishers, and platforms communicate
- Ability to manage detailed marketing budgets and understand financial detail
- Strong storytelling ability, including making complex technical concepts clear and engaging
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to make sound judgment calls around voice and messaging and know when to escalate
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-moving environment
- Interest in music, media, and AI
- Experience as a first or early marketing hire, building functions and processes from scratch
- Experience marketing to artists, labels, publishers, B2B platforms, or infrastructure companies
- Track record of building awareness and adoption within a focused B2B, technology, or industry ecosystem
- Experience running email marketing programs
- Active involvement in AI and music conversations
- Experience marketing APIs, infrastructure, enterprise software, rights technology, marketplaces, or products involving multiple senior stakeholders
- Experience turning technical standards, policy developments, research, or emerging industry frameworks into market narratives
