About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform advanced tasks and analyses for monthly/quarterly financial reporting for US business units, focusing on finished goods, obsolescence, COGS, and reserve models
  • Perform monthly close activities, including preparing or posting journal entries and monitoring sub-ledger interfaces
  • Analyze, prepare, and submit close-related deliverables on time
  • Perform accounting and financial analyses related to label artist and copyright royalty expense
  • Ensure royalty assets and liabilities are presented in accordance with GAAP
  • Review staff tasks and journal preparation
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audit documentation
  • Maintain relationships with finance personnel of domestic and international affiliates, business units, and other WMG divisions
  • Perform cross-functional or cross-departmental responsibilities as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-6 years of experience in Shared Service or Corporate Accounting
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP
  • Experience in a Shared Services environment
  • Experience working in a SOX controlled environment
  • Experience conducting internal & external audits
  • Experience with flux analysis and SEC reporting
  • Strong work-ethic and self-starter with effective organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Problem solving, decision making, and continuous process improvement skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
