About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assemble engines and powerpacks for testing
- Install and set up engines and powerpacks on dynamometers
- Set up, install, and calibrate data acquisition systems and instrumentation
- Perform engine and powerpack testing according to provided test plans
- Handle test cell setup, maintenance, instrumentation, and diagnostics
- Troubleshoot test article and instrumentation issues
- Build, upgrade, and maintain test facilities, including dynamometers, test stands, and test cells
- Document engine and powerpack build and test activities
- Provide feedback on Baker products and services
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Working knowledge of gas and diesel engine operation
- Engine dynamometer setup, instrumentation, and testing experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including a nationwide criminal record search
- US Citizen / ITAR compliant
- Experience with engine tuning preferred
- Experience with electrical system testing, instrumentation, and prototype vehicle development preferred
- Hands-on experience fabricating, installing, and integrating wiring harnesses, electrical, and electromechanical components preferred
- Familiarity with high-voltage automotive electrical systems preferred
- Ability to lift 5–20 lb frequently and 40+ lb rarely
- Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend/twist frequently, squat/kneel occasionally, reach/work above shoulders frequently, perform fine/gross manipulation frequently, and push/pull frequently
- Ability to see fine details while inspecting work
- Ability to sit at a desk workstation for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
