About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and integrate automotive and heavy vehicle wiring systems, harnesses, and electrical components
  • Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and electrical documentation
  • Conduct engineering analysis related to electrical systems and vehicle connectivity
  • Support prototype vehicle builds and electrical system testing
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues related to wiring, components, embedded controls, and system interactions
  • Write software requirements and interface with software engineers to develop control strategy
  • Integrate electrical and mechanical components and systems
  • Contribute to process improvements, tool development, and electrical engineering design standards
  • Write proposals, reports, and technical summaries
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in automotive electrical systems, embedded controls, wiring design and integration
  • Critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to pass a background investigation, including a nationwide criminal record search
  • US Citizen / ITAR compliant
  • Preferred: experience with high-voltage vehicle electrical systems
  • Preferred: experience with vehicle networking protocols (CAN, Ethernet) and related development tools
  • Preferred: experience with electrical system testing, instrumentation, or prototype vehicle development
  • Preferred: experience creating wire harness drawings
  • Preferred: working knowledge of embedded software programming languages and development practices
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with fabrication, installation, and integration of electrical and electromechanical components
  • Preferred: experience performing component- and system-level validation, including environmental and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), to industry and military standards
  • Preferred: experience using Matlab Simulink
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb rarely
  • Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to sit at a desk workstation for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
