About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide social service support to oncology patients and families in the outpatient setting
- Collaborate with staff to meet patient needs through direct interventions
- Assist patients with community resources
- Participate in interdisciplinary care for oncology patients
- Serve as a psychosocial support and care coordination resource
- Assist with community support groups and presentations for the oncology population as needed
- Perform other assigned duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree in Social Work required
- Current Oncology Social Work Certificate (OSW-C) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of oncology experience required; inpatient experience accepted, outpatient preferred
- Computer literate
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
- EPIC/BEACON competency preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of reporting abuse, Title 22, and Patient Rights regulations required
