About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides leadership and oversight to Radiology clinical research programs
  • Oversees IRB, RDRC, and FDA submissions
  • Provides comprehensive information and support to clinical research staff
  • May perform duties delegated to a Clinical Research Coordinator III and/or Clinical Research Supervisor
  • Assists with day-to-day management of the research team
  • Utilizes critical thinking in clinical trial management
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures
  • Directs clinical research personnel
  • Supervises the research team, including hiring, terminating, scheduling, and performance reviews
  • Onboards, educates, and trains new staff
  • Identifies personnel and study-conduct problems and implements corrective action plans
  • Provides higher-level oversight across the study/protocol lifecycle
  • Assists with clinical research strategic planning, trial bandwidth evaluation, protocol assessment, and staff assignments
  • Orders supplies for research projects and the research group
  • Assists with monitoring finances, recruitment milestones, and personnel resources
  • Assists financial and grant administrators with federal and sponsor-funded trials
  • Researches and recommends methods and procedures to maintain standards and improve quality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • 4 years of clinical or research experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in a normal office environment, patient care setting, and around blood-borne pathogens
  • Ability to travel to various on- and off-campus locations
  • Preferred: phlebotomy experience/certification
  • Preferred: SOCRA/ACRP certification
  • Preferred: familiarity with University systems
  • Preferred: effective working knowledge of investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored, and NIH-funded multi-center trials of all phases
  • Preferred: knowledge of grant compliance and FDA regulations
