About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Obtain insurance information and referral forms and counsel patients on financial assistance
  • Schedule and register patients by phone or email
  • Provide support for moderately complex situations
  • Potentially serve as lead Billing Associate by planning, organizing, directing and assisting scheduling team activities
  • Coordinate office functions and perform specialized/technical duties with minimal supervision
  • Serve as liaison among staff, patients, healthcare professionals and the general public while advocating for patient needs
  • Monitor staff performance to ensure quality care and compliance with practice standards
  • Monitor appointment scheduling, registration review, pre-arrival processes and documentation
  • Triage patient calls, tasks and emails with physicians and appropriate personnel
  • Manage providers' schedules, scheduling templates and master schedules
  • Coordinate training, interoffice activities, schedules, programs, policy/procedure changes and administrative needs
  • Coordinate staff vacations, coverage, timesheets and accruals
  • Plan and deliver orientation and staff training/development
  • Coordinate ordering and monitoring of supplies, equipment, mail and operational services
  • Provide backup staffing during peak times, vacations and illnesses
  • Collect patient demographics and insurance registration information
  • Prepare custom reports
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Computer Literacy

  • Compliance with OSHA, state and federal regulatory sources/standards
