About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement and manage all phases of study/protocols
  • Ensure compliance with protocol guidelines and regulatory agency requirements
  • Establish record-keeping systems
  • Assess and determine participants’ progress
  • Analyze, investigate, and report adverse events
  • Determine when to notify physicians, stop participant inclusion, or adjust protocols
  • Resolve protocol management issues and recommend corrective action
  • Recruit and enroll study participants
  • Determine participant eligibility using diagnostic criteria, interviews, and observations/analysis
  • Develop informed consent packets and obtain completed informed consent
  • Assist with neurological lumbar punctures and document procedures
  • Perform blood draws when trained in phlebotomy
  • Educate participants, families, and caregivers about studies, dementia, and dementia care
  • Administer and score tests and evaluate laboratory and clinical assessments
  • Coordinate timely completion of protocol assessments, testing, procedures, and treatments
  • Evaluate and interpret collected clinical data
  • Prepare presentations, reports, analyses, recommendations, and conclusions
  • Collect clinical data under clinical research protocols
  • Coordinate brain donations and autopsies on a rotating call schedule
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are not sufficient
