About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver peer navigation intervention to an assigned caseload of family caregivers through scheduled one-on-one telephone or video sessions
- Use personal caregiving experience to build rapport, provide emotional support, validate experiences, and model coping strategies while maintaining boundaries
- Share practical information and connect caregivers with relevant services and resources
- Document session notes, contact logs, fidelity measures, and other required data accurately and on time
- Recognize caregiver distress or risk and escalate to the principal investigator or study team
- Complete required intervention training and participate in ongoing supervision, case review, and team meetings
- Protect participant confidentiality and follow IRB, HIPAA, and study regulatory requirements
- Update the study coordinator and principal investigator on caseload status and scheduling
- Contribute the peer perspective to refining intervention materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or combination of education and/or experience
- Personal lived experience as a former family caregiver for a relative or close friend with Alzheimer's disease
- Willingness and ability to complete study-specific intervention training before delivering sessions
- Willingness and ability to participate in ongoing supervision and case review
- Strong interpersonal and active-listening skills
- Empathy, reliability, confidentiality, and appropriate boundary-setting
- Ability to recognize caregiver distress or risk and escalate according to established procedures
- Ability to follow intervention protocols, IRB, HIPAA, study regulatory, and privacy requirements
- Ability to document contacts accurately and enter data as required
- No specific certification or professional license required
- No specific work experience required
- Driver's license not required
- External candidates receiving an offer must complete applicable pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and, as applicable, drug screen, employment and education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccinations, and/or governmental registry checks
