About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess and document patient/family biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental needs
- Collect and analyze medical-record data to coordinate patient care
- Direct and provide pediatric patient care, including medication administration, procedures and patient-status monitoring
- Counsel and educate patients and families regarding disease processes and symptom management
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Consult with healthcare team members and adjust nursing care processes to optimize patient outcomes
- Set priorities and manage supplies and equipment cost-effectively
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other direct-care processes
- Participate in quality-improvement activities
- Contribute professionally through presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committees, community service, research or professional publications, and professional organization leadership
- Perform other specialty-specific duties
- Work Monday–Friday daytime clinic hours in a family-centered pediatric outpatient setting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate Degree In Nursing Or Diploma In Registered Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act
- Basic Life Support certification with a skills assessment component
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable
- Advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy)
- 2 years of clinical specialty experience
- Registered Nurse licensure from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration or Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation may be accepted
- Pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and applicable checks, drug screen, employment and education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccinations and/or governmental registry checks
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily
- Nursing, EHR/Epic EHR, HIPAA Regulations, IV Infusions, Pediatrics, PALS, ACLS, Bone Marrow Biopsy, Medical Oncology, Renal Nursing, Emergency Care, Vital Signs and related clinical skills are listed as preferred or relevant skills
