About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support outpatient pediatric multi-specialty clinics
- Provide specialized patient care and education for patients receiving treatments and examinations in a medical office
- Perform and document comprehensive patient/family assessments
- Collect and analyze medical-record data to coordinate patient care
- Direct and/or provide patient care, including medication administration, procedures, and patient-status monitoring
- Counsel and educate patients and families about disease processes and symptom management
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Consult with healthcare team members and adjust nursing care processes to optimize patient outcomes
- Set priorities and manage supplies and equipment cost-effectively
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations, procedures, prescription refills, and other direct-care processes
- Participate in quality-improvement activities
- Contribute professionally through presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, community service, research or professional publications, and professional-organization leadership
- Perform other specialty-specific duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate Degree In Nursing or Diploma In Registered Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; online BLS certifications without a skills assessment component are insufficient
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable
- Advanced clinical skills, such as PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, or Bone Marrow Biopsy
- 2 years of clinical specialty experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or M.S. in Nursing
- Preferred: 3 years of nursing experience
- Preferred skills include ACLS, Bone Marrow Biopsy, Clinical Care, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Emergency Care, Emergency Situations, Epic EHR, General Nursing, HIPAA Regulations, IV Infusions, Medical Oncology, Medical Record Reviews, PALS, Pediatrics, Renal Nursing, and Vital Signs
- Pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and applicable drug, employment, education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccination, and governmental registry checks
- Must be able to perform essential functions satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations available when requested
