About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support faculty, center directors, and staff throughout the pre-award stage of sponsored projects
  • Prepare and submit complex grant proposals, including budgets, justifications, agency forms, and regulatory documentation
  • Liaise between the Chair, faculty, and department administrators
  • Initiate subaward setup and coordinate with post-award units and OSRS
  • Assist select PIs with calendar management, meetings, and travel planning
  • Manage complex notices of award and annual agency reports
  • Coordinate the transfer of PI grants and contracts into WashU
  • Support complex grant-related compliance requests and research reporting
  • Monitor grant deadlines, renewals, progress reports, and funding trends
  • Close sponsored project accounts and submit final reports
  • Approve purchasing documents and process grant-agency correspondence
  • Track grant records and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of S2S, Research Management System (RMS), and SUBS system preferred
  • Knowledge of agency guidelines preferred
  • Ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily
  • No specific certification or professional license required
  • Driver’s license is not required
