About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Be the first point of contact and build relationships with current and existing supporters
  • Engage, inspire and motivate people to support WaterAid for the long term over phone, email, post and social media
  • Support outbound calling and stewardship programmes for people supporting WaterAid through organised or personal fundraising events
  • Ensure requests for information or resources are accurately fulfilled and recorded
  • Work closely with fundraising teams to drive sustainable change
  • Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience of excellent customer/supporter service skills, demonstrating empathy, understanding and enthusiasm to support a wide variety of queries
  • Proven ability of writing upbeat and engaging communications
  • Proven ability to build great personal conversations and truly engage with the public over phone, email and post
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and identify areas for improvement
  • Proactive data issue identification and problem-solving abilities
  • Previous experience in a front-line supporter/customer care role in a similar supporter/customer service environment is preferred, not essential
  • Empathy with overseas development issues is preferred, not essential
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
  • Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required for UK-based roles
