About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Clean and transform customer business data into Watershed templates
  • Reduce customer friction and drive time-to-value
  • Partner with customers to understand raw data and recommend preparation best practices
  • Communicate data issues to customers, including impact, options, and trade-offs
  • Assess, advise, and execute data-cleaning best practices
  • Rigorously document decisions to ensure traceability during third-party verifications
  • Synthesize customer experiences and feedback to improve workflows and inform product development
  • Work hands-on with customer business data to enable reliable sustainability-impact insights

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Early-career candidate with up to 2 years of experience
  • Up to 2 years of experience working with large data files in Excel through internships, co-ops, or academic projects
  • Python or SQL is a plus
  • Ability to work with complex, messy data and make it clean, structured, and trustworthy
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to double-check work
  • Intuition for how spreadsheet numbers map to the real world
  • Ability to translate abstract problems into concrete data frameworks
  • High customer empathy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate concisely with non-technical audiences
  • Low-ego team-player attitude and strong sense of ownership
  • Willingness to work in person in the San Francisco or New York office 4 days per week
  • Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week
  • Must answer whether visa sponsorship is required to work in the United States, now or in the future
