About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and build financial statements, dashboards, budgets, scenario analysis, forecasts, variance reports, program analysis, growth scenarios, and other ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Participate in all aspects of the budget process including building the budget, budget discussions, and other associated activities.
- Develop and maintain financial models and KPIs to evaluate agency program performance.
- Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Assist with cost analysis and margin improvement initiatives.
- Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with accounting, operations, programs, and leadership teams.
- Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations as needed.
- Summarize and present findings and fiscal impacts clearly for leadership and program directors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables)
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to flex hours for periodic deadline-drive work during month-end and planning cycles.
- Must meet physical requirements: normal degree of flexibility; ability to stand, walk, run and shuffle for several minutes; kneel on one and two knees and then stand up; bend 45 degrees at the trunk and twist to either side; able to grasp firmly; able to raise hands above head.
- Occasionally lift or move materials up to twenty-five pounds.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and do work at a computer screen for several hours each day.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience with ADP, Credible, Financial Edge NXT
- Experience with industry-specific financial analysis
