About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, administer, and further develop Windows and Linux servers
- Plan, implement, and commission systems and services
- Ensure the smooth operation of the IT infrastructure
- Provision and configure hardware, software, and access rights
- Analyze issues and document findings in German
- Manage the escalation of problems and incidents
- Collaborate with internal teams to continuously optimize and standardize the server environment
- Gather requirements, develop innovative solutions, and actively contribute to forward-looking IT projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed IT training, a degree in computer science, or comparable practical experience (career changers are welcome)
- Solid knowledge of Windows (10/11, Server 2016–2025) and Linux (preferably Debian)
- Experience operating, planning, and commissioning IT systems and services
- Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, including GPO, DNS, Sites and Services, and trust relationships
- Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere)
- Experience with backup solutions (Veeam)
- Experience with Microsoft Terminal Servers; knowledge of PKI is a plus
- Experience with monitoring systems (e.g., PRTG)
- Basic understanding of networking and IT security
- Fluency in German
- Experience with additional hypervisors (e.g., Proxmox) and storage systems (SAN, vSAN) is desirable
- Knowledge of WSUS and experience with Dell servers are desirable
- Experience with Ricoh Streamline NX Server and server hosting providers (e.g., Hetzner, IONOS) is desirable
