About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take ownership of AI systems for mid-sized companies, from the initial client meeting through ongoing operations
Clarify requirements with clients’ business departments and IT leadership in project teams alongside engineers and consultants
Define problems and success criteria in discovery sprints
Develop initial versions during pilot phases with clear go/no-go criteria
Integrate systems into day-to-day workflows and operate them reliably with monitoring
Train VLMs and implement Agentic AI in enterprise environments
Design LLM applications using RAG, structured extraction, and agentic workflows
Make and take responsibility for system architecture decisions
Develop backend services and APIs in Python, primarily using FastAPI
Deploy and operate systems on Azure, primarily with Azure OpenAI and AI Foundry
Ensure quality through testing, evaluation, and monitoring

Requirements

What you’ll need

Have independently deployed at least one LLM application or ML model that people use in their day-to-day work
Strong command of Python, including testing and deployment
Experience with a cloud platform, preferably Azure; AWS or GCP also considered
Able to explain and justify technical decisions to clients
Degree or vocational training in computer science, mathematics, data science, or a related field; comparable professional experience also considered
Very good German language skills
Classical machine learning is a plus
