About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and operate backend services powering estate planning, tax planning, and AI-driven products
Build APIs, data pipelines, and integrations with enterprise wealth management platforms
Take features from specification through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring
Write production-grade TypeScript code with strong testing, observability, and operational discipline
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate ambiguous problems into technical solutions
Contribute to scalability, reliability, security, and performance decisions
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and on-call rotations
Help shape engineering culture, tooling, and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping backend systems to production
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, or deep experience in Java, Go, C#, Kotlin, or Rust with ability to ramp into TypeScript
Hands-on experience designing and operating systems at meaningful scale
Solid grasp of API design (REST/gRPC), relational and NoSQL databases, messaging/event-driven systems, caching, and concurrency
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and modern CI/CD workflows
Experience with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, incident response, and operational support
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment and drive own work
Strong written and verbal communication
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience (bonus)
