About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support a team of attorneys with litigation tasks from inception through trial and close
  • Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing
  • Complete daily time entry billing requirements
  • Obtain, review, analyze and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information
  • Prepare for trials, including trial binders, exhibits and witness files
  • Manage court docket calendar
  • Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties
  • Work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
  • Demonstrated interest in defense litigation
  • Ability to perform legal research
  • Experience with Lexis a plus
  • Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records
  • Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required
