About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all duties related to warehouse and storage yard operations
- Fulfill daily orders; receive, put away, restock, and disburse materials using the current ERP system
- Pre-load and stage material; inspect trailers for correct loading procedures
- Requisition and assist with procurement processes when necessary
- Recognize and report damaged or incorrect shipments
- Evaluate, prepare, and account for returned materials, including jobsite and field returns
- Identify and reclaim materials suitable for return to stock, scrapping, sale, or other disposition
- Assist with inventory accuracy and conduct physical inventory counts
- Resolve storage-location and labeling problems
- Initiate, investigate, verify, report, and correct discrepancies
- Assist Materials Management in maintaining adequate inventory levels
- Update material shelf life regularly
- Maintain records and ensure proper accounting for all transactions
- Perform housekeeping tasks and keep storage areas clean and orderly
- Inspect for improper material storage and promptly remedy problems
- Identify unsafe conditions and initiate corrective action
- Operate and inspect material-handling equipment, including forklifts and CDL-rated vehicles
- Apply safe handling techniques for oversized, heavy, and unique materials
- Follow all DOT rules and regulations
- Provide onsite customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three years of warehouse and powered industrial truck experience or an Order Picker with greater than one year of experience required
- Valid driver's license and compliance with the company's requirements for driving
- Some business units require selected applicants to obtain an interstate commercial driver's license (CDL, Class B) within 90 days of entry into the job
- Ability to satisfy WEC Energy Group and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, including a background investigation, if unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets is required
- Ability to perform the physical functions of the position, demonstrated through a Physical Capacity Evaluation if required
- Ability to understand mechanic concepts
