About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Co-own the Group's strategic and business plans with the Group MD/CEO, ensuring financial rigour supports growth, capacity expansion, and diversification
  • Lead the Group's medium- and long-term financial strategy, including capital structure, funding mix, and dividend policy
  • Advise the Board and Executive Committee on capital allocation, investment appraisal, pricing strategy, and margin management
  • Evaluate and lead M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence, valuation, and post-transaction integration
  • Oversee annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning across the Group and its subsidiaries
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements and management accounts
  • Drive commercial and manufacturing cost analytics to protect and improve margins
  • Deliver Board-ready reporting packs, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis
  • Manage liquidity, banking relationships, working capital, cash flow, and FX exposure
  • Structure and negotiate debt facilities, trade finance, and supply-chain financing
  • Lead engagement with banks, DFIs, rating agencies, and capital markets
  • Own the Group's hedging strategy for commodity price and currency risk
  • Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, and financial governance across Group entities
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax legislation, statutory filings, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Oversee enterprise risk management, insurance strategy, and business continuity planning from a financial perspective
  • Manage the external audit relationship and resolve audit findings and management letter points
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance organization
  • Champion modern ERP, financial systems, and automation
  • Instill financial discipline, accountability, and commercial ownership across the business
  • Represent the Group with shareholders, lenders, regulators, and other external stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience
  • International experience
  • Experience co-owning strategic and business plans with a Group MD/CEO
  • Experience developing medium- and long-term financial strategy, capital structure, funding mix, and dividend policy
  • Experience advising boards and executive committees on capital allocation, investment appraisal, pricing strategy, and margin management
  • Experience leading M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships, including due diligence, valuation, and post-transaction integration
  • Experience overseeing annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning
  • Knowledge of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements and management accounts
  • Experience with commercial and manufacturing cost analytics, including cost-of-goods and input-cost sensitivity
  • Experience delivering Board-ready reporting packs, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis
  • Experience managing liquidity, banking relationships, working capital, cash flow, and FX exposure
  • Experience structuring and negotiating debt facilities, trade finance, and supply-chain financing
  • Experience engaging with banks, DFIs, rating agencies, and capital markets
  • Experience with commodity price and currency risk hedging strategies
  • Experience establishing internal controls, segregation of duties, and financial governance
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax legislation, including FIRS and LIRS
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements involving NAFDAC, SON, and NESREA
  • Experience overseeing enterprise risk management, insurance strategy, and business continuity planning
