What you’ll need

Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana, including furigana and variant character forms
Professional experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial work, or comparable document-intensive work
Character-level accuracy and attention to exact transcription
Systematic application of a taxonomy across hundreds of pages
Comfortable working with vertical text, multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms
Experience with annotation, labeling, grading, bilingual evaluation, MTPE, subtitling, bilingual QA, OCR correction, post-editing, typesetting, copy-editing, proofreading, digitization, Unicode normalization, Japanese input methods, full-width and half-width forms, or kanji variant handling are nice-to-have specialties
