About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set technical direction for the engineering organization
Own architectural strategy for complex, ambiguous problems across teams and organizational boundaries
Make foundational platform decisions and ensure long-term execution and reliability
Drive strategy to rebuild the platform around AI capabilities and autonomous agents
Establish organization-wide engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices
Guide designs, conduct rigorous code and architecture reviews, and mentor senior engineers
Partner with Engineering and Product leadership on technology strategy and business goals
Use AI agents and automated workflows for design, investigation, and implementation
Define company-wide AI engineering practices and identify opportunities where AI reshapes software development

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of experience
Proven track record of setting technical direction across an entire engineering organization
Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture, including reliability, scalability, performance, and cost tradeoffs
Excellent judgment in making high-stakes technical decisions under ambiguity
Ability to align cross-functional engineering teams
Strong record of mentoring, coaching, and elevating senior engineers
Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted software development
Ability to work Monday through Thursday, 8:00 PM–11:30 PM IST
