About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow business with OEMs, channel partners, and system integrators supporting lifting, material handling, and vertical transportation applications
  • Deliver automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, safety, and performance for customers nationwide
  • Develop relationships with crane OEMs, hoist OEMs, elevator OEMs, panel builders, system integrators, and modernization and aftermarket service providers
  • Support custom, retrofit, and new installation projects
  • Meet sales-related goals for VFDs, soft starters, industrial controls, and UL508A panels
  • Generate sales leads, develop sales opportunities, and close new business
  • Qualify leads, identify viable opportunities, and prioritize efforts
  • Obtain WEG Automation product specifications on target customers' approved vendor lists
  • Visit customer sites to review technical challenges and new applications
  • Identify opportunities and technology requirements and engage WEG internal experts to validate and implement new business
  • Coordinate with Area Managers, Territory Account Managers, and Automation Sales Engineers to gain new business
  • Develop and manage assigned market automation pipeline opportunities and work with non-direct reports to close business
  • Coordinate with Product Managers, Application Engineers, and Service personnel to define custom product solutions and services
  • Analyze financial data and sales metrics to track progress, identify improvements, and forecast revenue
  • Prepare KPI reports and presentations for stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Business or similar field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of business development, technical sales, application engineering, or account management experience in industrial automation, drives, controls, OEM manufacturing, or related industry
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and growing relationships with OEM customers
  • Strong knowledge of VFDs, soft starters, industrial controls, motor control, and automation solutions
  • Understanding of industrial control panels (UL508A), PLC-based systems, and systems integration
  • Ability to work with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to develop and close complex opportunities
  • Strong understanding of the assigned vertical market, including key OEMs, applications, buying drivers, and industry trends
  • Established industry relationships within the assigned vertical market strongly preferred
  • Experience working with or selling to crane, hoist, elevator, or lifting equipment manufacturers preferred
  • Familiarity with motion control, drives, and lifting applications preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
