About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the Project Quality Manager and functional quality authority on EPC and project-based contracts in the energy and industrial sectors
  • Build and run the full project quality program from kickoff through close-out
  • Ensure work, materials, contractor deliverables, and inspection activities comply with contractual requirements, applicable standards, and WEG Electric Corp. quality expectations
  • Establish and maintain the project audit schedule
  • Lead internal process, supplier, and site audits throughout the project lifecycle
  • Issue written audit reports and track corrective actions to closure
  • Own the full NCR lifecycle from identification through closure
  • Review the open NCR register and escalate unresolved NCRs
  • Produce monthly quality reports covering audit findings, NCR trends, ITP compliance, concessions, and open quality risks
  • Review and formally approve contractor ITPs before construction begins
  • Maintain the live ITP Status Register
  • Manage Hold Point waivers in writing and escalate waiver patterns
  • Require NCRs and stop work when Hold Points are bypassed without notification or approved waiver
  • Validate contractor quality management systems against ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent
  • Apply a risk-based criticality framework to equipment, processes, and systems
  • Stop work on nonconforming products or processes and require root cause analysis for repeat deficiencies
  • Maintain concession and RFI registers
  • Compile and submit the complete quality close-out package, including NCR registers, ITP Status Registers, audit reports, and data books

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of total experience
  • 4+ years in a dedicated quality management role on EPC, construction, or large capital projects
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a relevant technical discipline preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, ITP management, NCR lifecycle processes, and quality audit execution in EPC or large capital project environments
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and civil construction inspection requirements applicable to power generation, grid infrastructure, or industrial projects
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • SAP experience strongly preferred, including NCR entry, WBS referencing, and quality cost tracking
  • Ability to manage contractor quality compliance across multiple sites
  • Ability to independently produce audit reports, NCRs, quality plans, and executive reports
  • Ability to escalate issues effectively, including stop-work actions and corrective measures
  • Ability to identify quality risks and drive corrective action before escalation
  • Ability to support quality programs from project kickoff through close-out
  • Ability to maintain audit-ready documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
