About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate and resolve external theft, including shoplifting and Organized Retail Crime
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate intelligence on individuals and groups involved in organized retail crime
- Thoroughly document information gathered to aid in successful prosecution
- Provide guidance to store Asset Protection teams on investigative plans
- Operate the store CCTV system
- Conduct undercover surveillances
- Liaise between Weis Markets and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
- Refer cases to law enforcement for prosecution
- Represent Weis Markets professionally in court hearings and mediations
- Travel to multiple locations within an assigned area and provide investigative support
- Partner with Store Management and associates to protect company assets
- Support stores during significant business disruptions, including robbery, protests, and natural disasters
- This position does not directly supervise associates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Business, or related field preferred
- One (1) year retail loss prevention experience in a retail store environment
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to effectively manage time and scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights
- Ability to travel to multiple locations within an assigned area
