About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support all distributions with agent contracting and distribution processes
  • Review and process new agent contracting and appointment requests in compliance with company policies
  • Confirm licensing and required documentation
  • Submit background investigations to vendors
  • Process appointments, assign agent numbers, and distribute appointment approval notifications and executed contracts
  • Process agent contract exchange requests for existing agents
  • Maintain agent licensing records using system reports, written requests, licensing information, and record updates
  • Handle agent contract and appointment terminations, including state notifications and agent correspondence
  • Create and maintain agent commission assignment records
  • Process annual appointment renewals, including manager/general agent communications, record updates, renewal fees, state invoices, and discrepancy research
  • Review new business with inaccurate agent information and correct records
  • Communicate with agents, managers, clients, case managers, and external carriers to obtain missing information and follow up on contracting applications
  • Distribute manager agreements for agent signatures
  • Access, utilize, and disclose individually identifiable information in accordance with company policies and applicable law

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including business writing skills as related to accurate and correct internal and external business communications
  • Strong aptitude for understanding technical solutions and learning/utilizing tools
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) with the ability to utilize many systems
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative, professional and friendly manner
  • Able to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • A combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 3+ years of experience in licensing sales distribution systems, customer service or another insurance-related field
  • Agent licensing experience required
