About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide customer service in a call center environment by receiving and responding to telephone inquiries
- Assist providers, agents, policyholders, and others with inquiries from third-party administrator clients, including Medicare Supplement and Life Policies
- Provide information regarding insurance questions, including verification of benefits and claims status
- Access and update software system data within company response standards
- Research company records to obtain requested information
- Perform routine transactions and retrieve results from an online terminal
- Maintain working knowledge of company products and services
- Comply with company regulations regarding privacy, confidentiality, and private health information
- Provide written and oral communication regarding inquiry status and resolution
- Initiate and complete Call Tracks, checklists, and supportive clerical responsibilities
- Work collaboratively while remaining accountable and able to work remotely and independently
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Six months related call center experience and/or training
- Ability to pass background screening and drug tests pre- and post-hire, including THC
- Verification of high school, GED, or college diploma upon request
- Timely responses from three professional references
- Dedicated remote work location free from background noises, interruptions, and desk clutter
- Ongoing reliable internet connection
- Access to a smartphone for Multi Factor Authentication and communication
- Ability to type 30 wpm with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work various shifts as required
- Accurately enter data in a Windows-based environment
- Intermediate computer skills
- Knowledge of basic math, English spelling, and grammar
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to detailed written or oral instructions and standardized problems
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and use a computer and phone line
- Ability to read, hear, speak, use a keyboard, reason, and problem solve
- Ability to use office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, and copiers
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds
- Preferred: Associate’s degree
- Preferred: Experience with Long Term Care Insurance in a call center setting
- Preferred: Two years of related call center and customer service experience
