About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise the department and ensure the accuracy and completion of all work produced
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for required entities
- Prepare financial reporting packages for management
- Perform assigned analyses
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Review assigned reconciliations
- Prepare, review, and submit month-end reports
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to internal customers
- Prepare forecasting templates for upload into Great Plains
- Liaise with external auditors during the annual review
- Develop procedures to streamline accounting processes
- Eliminate duplicate processes and unnecessary reports
- Supervise physical inventory
- Review and analyze cash flow models
- Review and post assigned journal entries in Great Plains
- Process ACH transactions and wires as needed
- Complete special projects as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or finance
- Five to seven years of full-time professional accounting experience using a computerized financial management system, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and make decisions based on results
- Knowledge and skill in supervisory practices and principles
- High level of accounting knowledge, including GAAP
- Ability to multitask
- Skill in performing detailed and complex numerical computations and reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of computer skills, including accounting software, database software, Excel, and Word
- Reliable and consistent attendance required, including increased activity during close and audit periods
- Ability to work in a typical office environment with prolonged sitting and operate standard office equipment
