About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build the client intelligence capability from the ground up for Wells Fargo's Inventory Finance business
  • Define data sources and establish reporting and analytics infrastructure
  • Create a structured, repeatable view of the client base
  • Develop client segmentation, profitability, and behavioral analyses
  • Inform commercial strategy, pricing, cross-sell, and retention decisions
  • Design and maintain dashboards and recurring reporting for business and portfolio performance
  • Own ad hoc analytics by scoping stakeholder requests and delivering rigorous, time-sensitive quantitative analysis
  • Partner with business, technology, risk, and operations teams to source data, validate insights, and embed analytics into decision-making
  • Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences
  • Consult, review, and research moderately complex business, operational, and technical challenges
  • Perform moderately complex data analysis supporting strategic initiatives and business needs
  • Develop understanding of technical systems and business processes to extract data-driven insights and identify engineering enhancements
  • Lead or participate in large cross-group projects
  • Mentor less experienced staff
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, external contractors, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Follow compliance and risk management requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business discipline (desired)
  • Experience in analytics, data analysis, consulting, or a related field; financial services or lending experience preferred
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Excel, Python or R, Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate data into business insight
  • Self-starter comfortable building a capability from scratch in a fast-changing environment
  • Willingness to work on-site in one of the listed locations
  • Position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Ability to comply with applicable Wells Fargo compliance, risk management, outside activities, and personal investing policies
