About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the branch sales leader, acquiring, deepening, and retaining customer relationships
- Drive growth in primary checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
- Lead, coach, and develop the branch team to improve banker productivity
- Build an engaged and accountable culture focused on identifying customer financial needs
- Balance growth objectives with operational risk management
- Complete the Branch Manager Readiness Program before transitioning into the Branch Manager position, unless already serving as a Wells Fargo Branch Manager
- Provide inclusive leadership, establish expectations, and manage performance through targeted coaching
- Lead the branch team in delivering tailored consumer and business solutions
- Use observation, feedback, follow-up, and branch manager routines to build capability and productivity
- Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners
- Educate customers about digital banking options
- Analyze reporting and employee observations to improve team performance and expand relationships and wallet share
- Manage risk, resolve issues, and model behaviors that protect customers, employees, and the company
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
- Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
- Ability to analyze performance, identify strengths and opportunities, and execute action plans
- Exercise independent judgment and critical thinking skills to manage time, prioritize, and delegate tasks
- Success managing and coaching across affluent, high net worth, and business customer segments
- Ability to lead teams in influencing, educating, and connecting customers to technology and digital banking solutions
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
- Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
- Ability to travel in assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first 6 months and before branch placement
- SAFE registration is required at the time of employment
- Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and Wells Fargo standards related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background
- Not eligible for Visa sponsorship
