About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the branch sales leader accountable for acquiring, deepening, and retaining customer relationships
- Drive growth in primary checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing branch team
- Establish expectations and manage performance through targeted coaching
- Identify customer financial needs and deliver tailored consumer and business solutions
- Use branch manager routines, observation, feedback, and follow-up to improve capability, confidence, and productivity
- Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners
- Educate customers and demonstrate digital banking options
- Analyze reporting and employee observations to identify strengths and opportunities
- Execute action plans to improve team performance and expand primary bank relationships and wallet share
- Balance growth, operational soundness, and talent decisions
- Proactively manage risk, resolve issues, and model behaviors that protect customers, employees, and the company
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
- Ability to travel in assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first 6 months and prior to or until placement in a specific branch
- SAFE registration required at the time of employment
- Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements
- Must comply with Wells Fargo policies regarding financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background
- A credit report may be reviewed and additional ongoing screening may apply
- Not eligible for Visa sponsorship
- Successful completion of the Branch Manager Readiness Program required to transition into a Branch Manager position
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
- Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
- Ability to analyze performance and execute action plans
- Independent judgment and critical thinking skills
- Experience managing and coaching across affluent, high net worth, and business customer segments
- Ability to lead teams in educating customers about digital banking solutions
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
