About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the sales leader of the branch
  • Acquire, deepen, and retain customer relationships across checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
  • Lead, coach, and develop a branch team to improve banker productivity
  • Foster an engaged, accountable culture focused on identifying customer financial needs and recommending Wells Fargo solutions
  • Balance growth objectives with operational risk management
  • Complete the Branch Manager Readiness Program, including mentorship, job shadowing, and practical branch-operations learning, unless already serving as a Wells Fargo Branch Manager
  • Build and retain a high-performing team through clear expectations, targeted coaching, and performance management
  • Identify customer financial needs and deliver tailored consumer and business solutions
  • Use observation, feedback, follow-up, reporting, and employee observations to improve team performance
  • Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners
  • Educate customers about digital banking options
  • Manage risk, resolve issues, and model behaviors that protect customers, employees, and the company

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
  • Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
  • Ability to analyze performance, identify strengths and opportunities, and execute action plans
  • Independent judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Experience managing and coaching across affluent, high net worth, and business customer segments
  • Ability to lead teams in influencing, educating, and connecting customers to technology
  • Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
  • Ability to travel in assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first 6 months and before placement in a specific branch
  • SAFE registration required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo will initiate the process after the start date
  • Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements and comply with Wells Fargo policies
  • Subject to financial responsibility, character, fitness, criminal background, credit report, and ongoing screening requirements
  • Position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
