About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the branch sales leader, accountable for acquiring, deepening, and retaining customer relationships
- Drive growth in checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing branch team
- Establish expectations and manage performance through targeted coaching
- Identify customer financial needs and deliver tailored consumer and business solutions
- Use observation, feedback, and follow-up to improve capability, confidence, and productivity
- Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales teams
- Educate customers about digital banking options and demonstrate available technologies
- Analyze reporting and employee observations to identify strengths and opportunities
- Improve team performance, primary bank relationships, and wallet share
- Balance growth objectives with operational soundness and risk management
- Resolve issues and model behaviors that protect customers, employees, and the company
- Participate in the Branch Manager Readiness Program before transitioning into the Branch Manager position
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
- Ability to travel in assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first 6 months and before placement in a specific branch, depending on location
- SAFE registration required at the time of employment; Wells Fargo initiates the process after start date
- Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements
- Must comply with Wells Fargo policies related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background
- Credit report may be reviewed and additional ongoing screening may apply
- Position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
- Successful completion of the Branch Manager Readiness Program is required to transition into a Branch Manager position
- Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
- Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
- Ability to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and execute action plans
- Independent judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage time, prioritize, and delegate in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Experience managing and coaching across affluent, high-net-worth, and business customer segments
- Ability to connect customers to technology and explain digital banking solutions
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
