About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the sales leader of the branch
- Acquire, deepen, and retain customer relationships across checking, deposits, lending, credit cards, and investments
- Lead, coach, and develop a branch team
- Foster an engaged, accountable culture focused on identifying customer financial needs and recommending Wells Fargo solutions
- Balance growth objectives with operational risk management
- Complete the Branch Manager Readiness Program before transitioning into a Branch Manager position, unless already serving as a Wells Fargo Branch Manager
- Provide inclusive leadership and manage performance through targeted coaching
- Identify customer financial needs and deliver tailored consumer and business solutions
- Use branch manager routines, observation, feedback, and follow-up to improve capability and productivity
- Partner with Wealth & Investment Management, Business Banking, and Home Lending sales partners
- Educate customers about digital banking options
- Use reporting and employee observations to improve team performance and expand primary bank relationships and wallet share
- Manage risk, resolve issues, and model behaviors that protect customers, employees, and the company
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays
- Ability to travel in assigned geography up to 50% of the time during the first 6 months, and prior to or until placement in a specific branch
- SAFE registration required at the time of employment
- Loan Originators must meet LO/CFPB requirements
- Must comply with Wells Fargo policies related to financial responsibility, character, fitness, and criminal background
- This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
- Ability to hire, coach, and develop sales professionals and direct reports
- Ability to lead a customer-focused sales culture and drive measurable growth
- Ability to analyze performance and execute action plans
- Independent judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage time, prioritize, and delegate tasks
- Experience managing and coaching across affluent, high net worth, and business customer segments
- Knowledge of banking laws and regulations, compliance controls, operational risk management, and loss prevention
- Ability to influence, educate, and connect customers to digital banking technology
