About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the architecture strategy for the bank’s Core Banking Modernization program
  • Define and drive the end-to-end architecture vision across a multi-year 3+ year transformation roadmap
  • Provide hands-on architectural leadership for in-flight initiatives and transition activities
  • Partner with senior business leaders, technology executives, and domain architects to align business outcomes, platform strategy, and execution
  • Set architectural direction and govern design decisions
  • Guide vendor and platform usage
  • Ensure consistency across domains, integrations, and migration efforts
  • Advise senior leadership on architectural frameworks and delivery for complex business and technical needs
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of complex enterprise challenges
  • Define current-state, target-state, and transition architectures
  • Develop strategic plans, investment planning, and cutover strategies
  • Serve as an architectural domain expert advisor to leadership
  • Drive investments toward target technologies and rationalize spend, total cost of ownership, and return on investment
  • Ensure applications adhere to Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices
  • Define, establish, select, and apply strategic tools and architecture frameworks
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies and recommend innovations
  • Influence internal and vendor roadmaps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5+ years of experience defining data strategy
  • Hands-on knowledge of customer data domain
  • Experience with cloud-based operational and analytical data platforms
  • Experience with cloud and data architecture, domain-driven design, architecture frameworks, product thinking, and Agile delivery
  • Experience with strategic data and/or financial systems architecture within the financial services industry
  • Skilled in negotiating, influencing, and collaborating to build strong partnerships
  • Ability to mentor other architects
  • Ability to partner with platform engineering and architecture teams on solutions spanning multiple domains
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
