About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead within Wells Fargo's Cybersecurity Identity and Access Management Engineering organization
  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for IAM engineering capabilities across multiple cloud platforms
  • Drive a multi-cloud IAM strategy focused on portability, resiliency, standardization, and reduced cloud-provider dependency
  • Advance self-service IAM capabilities for application onboarding, provisioning, and configuration
  • Partner with security, cloud, platform, architecture, and application engineering teams to establish reusable IAM patterns and services
  • Define IAM engineering strategy for emerging agentic technologies and evolving cloud security requirements
  • Deliver commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Improve software engineering practices
  • Oversee software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of team- and third-party-developed solutions
  • Set risk management guidelines and implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead project implementation and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate with and influence professionals at all levels, including experienced managers
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry forums
  • Manage people and financial resources
  • Develop a talent-development culture
  • Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Validate and integrate AI-assisted outputs while accounting for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience
  • 4+ years of experience leading Identity and Access Management engineering organizations or large-scale identity platforms
  • Experience developing technology strategies across Azure, GCP, AWS, and/or OCP
  • Experience building or leading cloud-native platforms, shared services, or self-service engineering capabilities
  • Knowledge of emerging security considerations associated with AI and agentic technologies
  • Experience designing highly available, resilient, and scalable security or identity solutions
  • Experience partnering across cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, application engineering, architecture, and risk organizations
  • Experience modernizing legacy technology environments and defining future-state engineering roadmaps
  • Proven ability to lead engineering leaders and influence senior technology stakeholders across a large, complex organization
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical strategy and operational performance to senior executives and key stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency using AI-assisted development and analysis tools such as GitHub Copilot and approved code-centric agents
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CyberArk Defender/Sentry, or related security certifications are preferred
