About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the evaluation of vendor proposals, new and existing security designs, and emerging firewall technologies and systems
Lead teams including business partners and vendors to solve problems and design information and network security solutions
Design, document, plan, coordinate, and implement complex information security solutions
Create fit-for-purpose template configurations for consistent firewall infrastructure deployment
Collaborate between firewall management, engineering, architecture, and certification teams on perimeter security designs
Serve as a high-level technical firewall resource on large-scale network and systems/applications issues
Develop automation of firewall rules and infrastructure deployment
Lead specific computer security incident response activities, including intrusion detection monitoring and network security architecture
Mentor less experienced staff
Provide security consulting on large projects for internal clients and ensure conformity with corporate security policy and standards
Review and correlate security logs
Implement information security components including availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity
Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives
Collaborate with and influence professionals at all levels, including managers
Lead a team to achieve objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience or military experience
3+ years of experience managing large scale enterprise firewall deployment solutions
3+ years' experience with networks and networking
3+ years' experience with information security and security principles
3+ years' experience with firewall and IPS technologies
Experience working with automation/management tools such as XSOAR, Skybox, Ansible
Knowledge of programming and scripting languages, including Python
Experience working with Fortinet, Checkpoint and Palo Alto
Industry recognized security certifications
Knowledge of regulations required in a financial environment
Experience writing technical procedures, references, and other documentation
Experience working with cross functional teams
Must work from one of the posted locations in a hybrid environment
