About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex software engineering initiatives using core development principles and practices
  • Develop standards and adopt best practices for complex, large-scale technology solutions
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document software
  • Review and analyze large-scale technology solutions against business objectives and technical challenges
  • Collaborate with technical experts and cross-technology teams to resolve complex issues
  • Serve as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting
  • Guide less experienced staff in resolving escalated and complex production, application, or system problems
  • Build Product Development backlogs with portfolio stakeholders and prioritize them with the Product Owner
  • Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled applications using React, TypeScript, Python, and modern API frameworks
  • Build and maintain Python backend services, APIs, MCP services, and integration layers using MCP, FastAPI, and Flask
  • Design and integrate MCP servers and clients for secure context sharing
  • Develop and support agentic workflows for complex, multi-step tasks
  • Build modular, skill-based, reusable, composable, and versioned agents
  • Create reusable components, services, tool schemas, and integration patterns for enterprise AI applications
  • Integrate logging, tracing, and observability tooling, including Arize- and Splunk-compatible tools
  • Prepare applications and services for deployment on OpenShift or Kubernetes
  • Collaborate with AI developers, platform engineers, product teams, and architecture partners
  • Follow Wells Fargo risk, compliance, governance, monitoring, escalation, and remediation requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 4+ years of experience with a modern development language such as .NET, Python, React, or Java, with emphasis on Microsoft development tools and environments
  • 4+ years of experience with relational databases
  • 3+ years working with cloud, container, or hybrid platforms, including Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • 1+ year of experience with AI/ML concepts, including LLMs and prompt engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with Co-pilot and/or Devin
  • Knowledge of observability practices, including logging, monitoring, and tracing
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Harness, Artifactory, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Black Duck, and Splunk
  • 3+ years of experience with API design and development, including RESTful and GraphQL
  • 2+ years of experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of Kafka
  • Knowledge of Redis
  • Experience designing and scaling enterprise GenAI platforms and AI-driven products
  • Expertise in Agentic AI, multi-agent systems, RAG architectures, Knowledge Graphs, and long-term memory frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI
  • Strong proficiency in Python with Fast MCP, FastAPI, and Flask
  • Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous services, and event-driven architectures
  • Experience establishing AI observability, monitoring, evaluation, resiliency, and reliability practices
  • Knowledge of AI security, responsible AI, governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with automated testing using Playwright, performance testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
  • Must be able to work on-site at an approved location at least three days per week
  • Not eligible for visa sponsorship
