About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex, broad-impact initiatives and provide high-level systems consultation for technology teams
  • Participate in large-scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for the Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges and escalated support issues related to core business solutions
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering teams on change design and technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with technical peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals
  • Engineer, maintain, and enhance enterprise automation solutions using HCL BigFix
  • Develop and support BigFix relevance, ActionScript, Fixlets, tasks, baselines, analyses, dashboards, and reporting content
  • Support enterprise patching processes across Windows, Linux, and Unix server platforms
  • Lead support of BigFix integrations with Qualys, ServiceNow, patch tracking and compliance systems, vulnerability management tools, and internal reporting and automation platforms
  • Lead development and support efforts for the MPAC Tools team
  • Ensure application uptime meets SLA
  • Provide subject-matter-expert support to business partners and vendors
  • Meet goals set by the manager and FHO leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5+ years of hands-on BigFix experience in an enterprise environment
  • Strong experience with BigFix relevance language, ActionScript, custom Fixlet creation, support, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with enterprise patch deployment, patch compliance reporting, vulnerability remediation tracking, and server lifecycle automation using BigFix
  • Experience with BigFix Inventory, BigFix Patch, BigFix Compliance, or BigFix Lifecycle
  • Experience supporting patching and automation across Microsoft Windows Server and Unix/Linux server platforms
  • Ability to engineer complex automation solutions across multiple enterprise tools and teams
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management, patch governance, and enterprise remediation processes
  • Experience coordinating work across infrastructure, security, application, middleware, and operations teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts, project updates, and risks to leadership
  • Experience using AI tools or AI-assisted automation concepts to improve engineering, reporting, or operational workflows
