About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coach, direct, and manage sales activities of a small group of residential Mortgage Retail Sales Consultants
  • Supervise individual contributors to ensure high customer service, timely completion, quality, and compliance
  • Produce high-quality loans meeting Wells Fargo Home Mortgage guidelines
  • Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial planners, bank stores, past customers, and other nontraditional sources
  • Make supervisory decisions and resolve issues involving team supervision, work allocation, financial resources, and daily operations
  • Manage personal and team pipelines and customer loyalty
  • Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements while negotiating terms and taking applications
  • Identify process improvement and risk control opportunities
  • Interact with external customers and collaborate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers
  • Monitor mortgage industry trends and maintain Wells Fargo Home Mortgage visibility in the assigned market
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources
  • Select, evaluate, and develop staff within Mortgage Retail Sales

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 1+ years of Leadership experience
  • SAFE registration at the time of employment
  • Must meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Loan Originator qualification requirements
  • Must meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Must meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary
  • Ability to lift 20+ pounds
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
