About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Solicit residential mortgages from various sources
Produce high-quality, compliant loans and provide excellent customer service
Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, past customers, and other sources
Maintain visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the assigned marketplace and monitor mortgage industry trends
Present loan-production recommendations and exercise independent judgment while adhering to policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and loan-generation standards
Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
Receive customer applications, quote rates and points, complete registration lock-in follow-up, and offer mortgage products based on client needs
Review financial and credit data, match customer needs with appropriate loan programs and risk levels
Explain mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and procedures to customers
Maintain timely and proactive customer communication and high client satisfaction
Pursue Wells Fargo training on products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of: work experience, training, military experience, or education
SAFE registration at the time of employment
Meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z
Meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards
Meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary
Reliable transportation
Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Experience with retail residential mortgage and purchase fundings
Experience educating clients on various mortgage programs
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Mortgage industry experience
Knowledge of sales prospecting and generating referrals
Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
Customer service experience
Bilingual speaking proficiency in Spanish/English (desired)
