About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Solicit residential mortgages from various sources
  • Produce compliant, high-quality loans and provide excellent customer service
  • Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, past customers, and other non-traditional sources
  • Develop and maintain visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the assigned market
  • Stay informed about mortgage industry trends and developments
  • Present recommendations for producing loans and exercise some independent judgment
  • Understand and comply with Mortgage Retail Sales policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
  • Receive customer applications, quote rates and points, and complete registration lock-in follow-up activities
  • Analyze and offer mortgage loan products based on client needs
  • Review low- to moderately complex financial and credit data and match customer needs with appropriate loan programs and risk levels
  • Inform customers about Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures
  • Maintain timely and proactive customer communication and high client satisfaction
  • Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • SAFE registration at the time of employment
  • Meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Loan Originator qualification requirements
  • Meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Documented retail residential mortgage fundings over the past 12 months referred primarily from established, local, external sources
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals
  • Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
  • Customer service experience
  • Bilingual speaking proficiency in Chinese/English or Spanish/English (desired)
