About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Solicit residential mortgages from various sources
  • Produce compliant, high-quality loans and provide excellent customer service
  • Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, past customers, and other non-traditional sources
  • Maintain visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the assigned market
  • Stay informed of mortgage industry trends and developments
  • Present recommendations for producing loans and exercise independent judgment
  • Receive customer applications, quote rates and points, and complete registration lock-in follow-up activities
  • Analyze and offer mortgage loan products based on client needs
  • Review financial and credit data and match customer needs with appropriate loan programs and risk levels
  • Inform customers about mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures
  • Maintain timely and proactive customer communication and high client satisfaction
  • Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of products, policies, procedures, and underwriting requirements
  • Follow applicable risk, compliance, monitoring, governance, escalation, and remediation requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • SAFE registration at the time of employment
  • Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations
  • Meet Loan Originator requirements under Regulation Z
  • Meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements
  • Meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Successful completion of ongoing regulatory requirements and additional screening, if necessary
  • Ability to understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
  • Ability to review and analyze low to moderately complex financial and credit data
  • Ability to adhere to Wells Fargo policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and underwriting requirements
