About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead strategy and resolution of highly complex enterprise challenges
- Translate business objectives and technology requirements into technical engineering solutions
- Lead implementation and maintenance of PCI-compliant enterprise architectures
- Collaborate with lines of business, Risk, Security, and Compliance teams to identify cardholder-data risks and design remediation strategies
- Develop and maintain scalable, secure cardholder-data protection solutions aligned with PCI DSS
- Design and prototype AI/agentic AI solutions for data discovery, classification, risk scoring, and automated evidence generation
- Serve as a PCI standards and AI technologies subject matter expert
- Mentor engineers and influence enterprise architecture
- Contribute to enterprise PCI strategy and technology roadmaps
- Evaluate and integrate data tokenization, encryption, logging, and AI-driven policy-enforcement tools
- Advise leadership on innovative business solutions
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and recommend operational innovations
- Serve as an expert advisor to professionals and managers across the enterprise
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 7+ years of experience with PCI DSS requirements and implementing compliant solutions
- 7+ years of hands-on Java and Python experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and integration architecture
- 7+ years of experience with databases and data models
- 5+ years of Agile experience
- Ability to lead highly complex technical challenges across multiple product areas
- Experience engineering, designing, deploying, and architecting data-at-rest encryption or tokenization solutions
- Experience with PCI scope reduction techniques, including tokenization, P2PE, and segmentation
- Knowledge of agentic AI concepts and their application to security or compliance use cases
- Contributions to open-source security tools, AI frameworks, or PCI industry working groups
- PCI ISA or AI/ML certifications are desired
- Must not require visa sponsorship
