About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Advise leadership on applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, and web technologies for highly complex needs
Lead strategy and resolution of complex enterprise-wide technical challenges
Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, and network teams to establish performance and resiliency standards
Provide expert guidance on architecture and operational readiness
Lead resolution of complex production performance and stability challenges
Own end-to-end performance engineering design and execution across critical platforms
Diagnose application, infrastructure, network, and configuration bottlenecks
Define tuning recommendations and architectural improvements for scalability, stability, and reliability
Design and lead WIMT-wide resiliency programs including chaos, stress, load, failover, breakpoint, and disaster recovery testing
Translate business and technology objectives into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership and engineering teams
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and recommend innovations
Serve as an expert advisor to professionals and managers across the enterprise
Work hands-on with Performance Engineers to create performance testing solutions
Analyze results and debug latency challenges with the CTO team
Create common Splunk and AppDynamics patterns, queries, and configurations
Design, execute, and analyze performance tests
Guide, provide technical direction, and mentor other engineers
Lead resolution of complex technical challenges through cross-functional collaboration and in-depth analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
7+ years of executing and leading Performance Testing
5+ years of scripting languages to create Performance testing utilities/reusable components
2+ years of experience working with observability rules
2+ years of executing Performance Testing in Data Center migration programs
5+ years of experience with tools like LoadRunner and/or JMeter/BlazeMeter
5+ years working with App Dynamics, Splunk or Grafana
Knowledge of Network infrastructure, Firewall, and Load Balancers
Knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or other cloud experience like PCF
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Flexibility to be on call beyond normal working hours
Ability to work additional hours as needed
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
