Product Strategy Director – Branded Cards

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape and define the future of Wells Fargo's branded credit card products
- Manage and develop teams delivering complex P&L-driven initiatives related to product and customer performance, marketing outcomes, and operational efficiency
- Set strategy, priorities, and product roadmaps for larger domains aligned to growth, profitability, and risk objectives
- Define and lead problem solving, prioritization, and consistent decision frameworks
- Advise teams on complex trade-offs across customer, financial, and risk dimensions
- Shape, review, and challenge business cases for highly complex business problems
- Guide delivery of high-quality analysis, business cases, and requirements
- Translate product, competitor, and macroeconomic insights into portfolio-level prioritization and roadmap recommendations
- Influence senior management and stakeholders on product and market trade-offs, sequencing, and investment decisions
- Manage people and financial resource allocation
- Develop a culture of talent development aligned with business objectives and strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of business analysis, strategy, product, marketing, finance, credit risk, or related analysis experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- 4+ years management or leadership experience
- Credit Card industry experience, especially at multiple leading credit card issuers
- Prior experience as a credit card general manager responsible for portions of P&L
- Prior experience in credit card lending roles involving varying aspects of credit and lending risk, including originations, customer management, fraud, and collections
- Prior experience leading launches or implementation of new products or capabilities, or integrations/transformations of technology platforms
- Prior experience in data science or analytics roles involving data infrastructure projects
- Prior experience in multiple credit card segments, including consumer, small business, commercial, and partnerships/co-brands
- Strong understanding and application of risk management principles
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to drive clarity in ambiguity while dealing with credit and operational problems
- Professional verbal and written presentation skills
- Expertise in credit, product, and marketing data and analysis
- Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills based on analysis, rigorous logic, market and consumer dynamics, and operational assessments
- Demonstrated focus on leading, coaching, mentoring, and guiding team member development
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
