About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Source and onboard new business clients through strategic prospecting, community outreach, and internal referrals
  • Build visibility and develop Centers of Influence to support long-term relationship development
  • Deepen existing relationships by understanding client priorities and identifying engagement and expansion opportunities
  • Manage a moderately complex book of business
  • Grow the portfolio by increasing core deposit balances and identifying deepening opportunities
  • Manage risk exposure and align with underwriting policies and risk guidelines
  • Conduct financial and credit assessments covering cash flow, collateral, and business operating cycles
  • Structure and support secured and unsecured credit solutions within delegated authority
  • Coordinate with credit partners as needed
  • Present credit recommendations and financial strategies to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Recommend and deliver Wells Fargo business banking products, including credit, treasury management, and digital banking tools
  • Tailor solutions to client operating cycles, cash flow needs, and strategic goals
  • Collaborate with product teams and internal stakeholders to solve client challenges and streamline processes
  • Engage financial decision-makers through proactive communication and responsive service
  • Provide feedback to improve tools and offerings, client experience, and operational excellence
  • Retain and grow client relationships by advising on financial strategies and managing expectations
  • Visit customers and prospects outside the branch within the assigned market/geography
  • Assess needs and refer customers interested in dwelling-secured products to SAFE team members without taking applications or offering or negotiating transaction terms
  • Execute applicable credit, market, financial crimes, operational, and regulatory compliance risk programs; monitor, escalate, and remediate issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 2+ years of experience sourcing and/or managing a portfolio of clients with $2mm–$25mm in annual revenue
  • Strong knowledge of deposit and cash management products and services
  • Strong relationship-building and excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externally
  • Ability to balance client needs with associated risks and Wells Fargo interests
  • 3+ years of experience in business-to-business sales
  • Established network in the local market
  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Must meet Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements for Loan Originator positions
  • Must meet applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards
  • Must meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary
  • Must comply with Wells Fargo policies related to Loan Originator requirements
