About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior HR leaders and business partners on executive compensation strategy, governance, and program execution
  • Develop and implement executive compensation programs and strategies aligned with business objectives, talent priorities, and market competitiveness
  • Partner across HR, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Total Rewards Centers of Excellence on executive compensation practices and disclosures
  • Analyze executive compensation, market, proxy, and benchmarking data to provide actionable recommendations and executive-ready insights
  • Support executive compensation decisions requiring Human Resources Committee approval, including annual pay reviews, executive appointments, promotions, and key external hires
  • Prepare Human Resources Committee materials and reporting accurately, timely, and in compliance with governance requirements
  • Manage executive compensation programs and processes, including off-cycle equity grants and enterprise-wide U.S. notice period programs affecting more than 50,000 employees
  • Conduct market pricing and competitive benchmarking analyses
  • Assist with executive compensation disclosures, including the Compensation Discussion & Analysis and related Proxy statement requirements
  • Lead compensation-related projects and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with external consultants on market studies, surveys, and special initiatives
  • Fulfill applicable Wells Fargo risk and compliance program obligations, including monitoring, governance, escalation, and remediation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of Compensation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting and evaluating data
  • Strong executive presence and confidence presenting to senior leadership
  • Understanding of SEC rules and regulations
  • Experience with executive compensation disclosures, including CD&A and related Proxy statement requirements
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Familiarity with executive compensation market data sources and benchmarking methodologies
  • Knowledge of executive compensation governance, compliance, and risk management practices
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Workday, including reporting and data analysis capabilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and navigate ambiguity with sound judgment
  • Must not require visa sponsorship
