About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a trusted compliance advisor to the Credit Card business
- Research and analyze regulatory requirements and translate compliance obligations into actionable business solutions
- Provide independent compliance oversight across product development, originations, rewards, pricing, marketing, customer communications, and strategic initiatives
- Assess laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and company policies and provide practical recommendations
- Monitor regulatory requirements, enforcement actions, industry developments, and emerging risks
- Partner with business, risk, legal, and control teams to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend responses to risks, control gaps, and regulatory expectations
- Provide effective challenge and oversight for new products, product changes, operational changes, customer experiences, and strategic initiatives
- Support regulatory change management by assessing impacts and overseeing implementation
- Provide oversight and credible challenge throughout issue management, including root cause analysis, remediation, corrective actions, and closure validation
- Assess regulatory risks and compliance controls for outsourced activities, vendors, and service providers
- Partner with testing, audit, regulatory examination, and risk management teams on findings and remediation
- Participate in governance forums, policy and procedure reviews, risk assessments, reporting, and compliance initiatives
- Prepare and present compliance guidance, risk assessments, and reporting to business partners and senior leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Knowledge and understanding of Consumer Credit Card products and/or credit card lending industry
- Experience interpreting and applying state, federal, and agency legal and regulatory compliance requirements specific to Consumer lending, including Regulation Z, Regulation B, Fair Credit Reporting Act, CAN-SPAM, UDAAP, SCRA, MLA, and Fair Lending
- Experience in risk management and regulatory compliance
- Knowledge and understanding of lending policies, regulations, and compliance
- Active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferred
- Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring a risk-based compliance program
- Ability to review and monitor issues and corrective actions relating to regulatory compliance
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong working relationships and coordinating with stakeholders
- Willingness to work onsite at a stated location
- Position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship
- Must successfully complete and pass a FINRA background check prior to hire
- Must meet ongoing FINRA regulatory obligations, including periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents
